The Committee reviews, monitors, and makes recommendation with the respect to the City's investment program. The City will follow Prudent Investor Standard when investing, reinvesting, purchasing, acquiring, exchanging, selling, and managing public funds, a trustee shall act with care, skill, prudence, and diligence under the circumstance then prevailing, that a prudent person acting in a like capacity and familiarity with those matters would use in the conduct of funds of a like character and with like aims, to safeguard the principal and maintain the liquidity needs of the agency. Individuals with items of public interest or concern, should attend the committee meetings. The Committee is composed of five members elected by City Council and two at large, and serve a four-year term.
Montebello’s elected officials may not serve on the committee. The Committee meets quarterly, as needed at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 1600 West Beverly Boulevard, Montebello, CA 90640.

The Commission includes our youth from the ages of 16-19 at the time of appointment and advises the City Council on matters relating specifically to youth. This includes activities oriented toward educational, recreational and civic programs, and those activities that pertain to life issues, thus addressing the educational and leisure needs, creating awareness and improving quality of life for our youth. The duties of the Commission shall also include the identification and publication of educational opportunities for youth and the development of youth leadership. In addition, the Commission shall perform such other duties as may from time to time be directed by the City Council. The Commissioners serve a two-year term.
