The Planning and Community Development Department is responsible for the safe and orderly development of the community improving the quality of life for the residents. Some of the general responsibilities of the Department include comprehensive long range planning ensuring orderly development minimizing impacts to existing residential neighborhoods, the enforcement of the Building Code ensuring compliance with the minimum building and safety standards, the engineering and design of the City’s street and infrastructure systems, and ensuring that the minimum property maintenance standards are enforced maintaining a higher standard of living in the community.
