Over the course of the next 12 months the Cities of La Puente, Montebello, Monrovia, Irwindale and Glendora wil be developing Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plans to identify opportunities to improve local conditions for walking and bicycling. At the same time, a San Gabriel Velley Regional Greenway Plan wil be developed to prioritize the 50 miles of multi-purpose walking and biking paths that are most feasible to build along the region's many waterways, washes, and storm channels. Project timeline is expected to be June 2017-October 2018
There will be multiple opportunities for the public to participate in the development of the plan , including community meetings, workshops, and walk/rides. You can also weigh in and share feedback, suggestions and comments via this online survey!
What is a Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan?
A Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan is a comprehensie planning document that guides the development of more walkable, bike-able communities. A plan typically includes goals and objectives; and inventory of existing conditions; community input to identify desirable routes; proposed roadway safety improvements; and policies and programs that support walking and bicycling as asafe, comfortable, and healthy forms of transportation, recreation and physical activity.
